GMC Canyon AT4X 2025: Release Date, Specs. The forthcoming GMC Canyon 2025 will get mid-cycle refreshments. This pickup truck is very similar to the Chevy Colorado, including its appearance and some other components. Many sources already reported that General Motors will deliver minor updates in 2025. Canyon will get a couple of important upgrades. The highlight of the new model will be its AT4X trim level.
This off-road variant will gain more features, but we’ll get to that later. On the other hand, the interior will get small technology updates and the performances should remain intact. The sales will begin in the second half of 2022.
Engine Options
Under the hood, the upcoming GMC Canyon 2025 will most likely remain intact. There is still a possibility for Canyon to obtain some sort of hybrid powertrain. This is a must, as Ram and Ford are already offering hybrid pickup trucks. General Motors will release official details in the first quarter of 2022. As for the current engine lineup, nothing will change.
The Canyon 2025 will deploy a 2.5-liter with 200 hp and an optional 3.6-liter V6 with 308 horsepower. The standard engine option generates up to 190 lb-ft of torque and the optional powerplant up to 275 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, a 2.8-liter diesel can produce 180 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of twisting power. With this engine, Canyon can tow almost 8,000 pounds.
Canyon AT4X Gets More Off-Road Equipment
In the last couple of years, the mid-size segment has become very competitive. This segment offers so many great off-road variants, including models such as Toyota Tacoma, Jeep Gladiator, and Chevy Colorado. There are Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger, and Honda Ridgeline. The upcoming GMC Canyon 2025 AT4X is another established model with so much to offer. The 2025 version will get more upgrades.
That includes a new specially-tuned suspension, locking rear differential, and hill descent control system. On top of that, Canyon AT4X will arrive with a different approach angle, a new suspension kit and the air dam will be removed. General Motors will also add more protection and a couple of interesting styling upgrades.
Canyon 2025 Changes
At this moment, it is hard to predict exact changes on the GMC Canyon 2025. However, some reports are already suggesting possible exterior and interior upgrades. For a start, this model will use lighter materials, mostly aluminum. Thanks to that, the vehicle’s weight will be slightly reduced. This should result in small fuel efficiency improvement. On the other hand, the truck’s appearance will largely remain.
